Barefoot Best - Sal Salis, Ningaloo Reef
Ningaloo Reef is Australia’s newest World Heritage area. Tropical currents sweep down to meet currents from the Antarctic and where coral reefs and continental shelf almost collide, amazing sea life navigates the narrow channels between them: dolphins, turtles, manta rays, seasonally migrating whale sharks and humpback whales.
Hidden in the coastal dunes is Sal Salis, a rustic tented camp that makes environmentally sensitive tourism a reality. The beds and food are heavenly, the wildlife of the rocky hinterland mirrors the underwater spectacle and luxury means the wondrous opportunities thrown up in this extraordinary cradle of Australian nature.
Most activities are included in the tariff. Star-gazing – complimentary of course!
